Manute Bol’s spirit lives on through his son. Bol Bol is 6-foot-10, 14-years-old, and an advanced basketball player. The teen was recently captured while playing for his high school, Bishop Miege in Kansas, and remnants of his father could be seen in his skill.
Bol displayed some defensive skills that his father was famous for, and showed good sportsmanship throughout the game that his father would have been proud of. “I can’t believe it,” said Ajok Kuag in response to her son’s incredible skills. “He’s just Manute. Same thing. Same body, same everything. Everything is Manute. I know he’s my son, but he has nothing from me. He’s all Manute.”
Manute Bol passed away in 2010, after having complications with Stevens-Johnson syndrome and experiencing acute kidney failure. The NBA star was 47-years-old at the time of his passing, and had greatly impacted the professional basketball league.
Although his son has not yet reached his full potential as a player, the odds are in his favor. This is a good thing since Bol has the ultimate goal of playing for the NBA, “To help my family…like my dad.”
