Lebron James doesn’t only have his own basketball skills to be proud of anymore. His son, Lebron Jr., is already getting attention, with many wondering if they’ll see him in the NBA next.
At only 10 years old, it may seem too early to talk big leagues, but if he’s anything like his dad, he’s got less than 10 years to go. Last weekend, a video of the young baller dominating a tournament in Houston went viral, attracting eyes nationwide. But what does his father have to say about all the noise? “If he loves the game, and he works at it, he has a chance to be good. But he’s still young. Just play for the love of the game, don’t worry about nothing else.” Wise words from a proud parent, indeed. On Twitter he posted, “Proud of you son! Great job in Houston and congrats on bringing home 1st place.”
Despite being plastered all over YouTube right now, Junior is not allowed to let the sensation of it all go to his head. “He’s got an iPad, but I try to keep him away from it as much as possible,” Lebron said. “As far as what he’s doing I don’t want him to get involved in that stuff right now. Too young. His father knows exactly what could happen.”
In the meantime, the rest of the world will be waiting to see where this youngster heads.
