LeBron James has children who are not fully aware of the details surrounding the Ferguson case, and that’s the way the NBA star wants to keep it. James tells media that he would rather his children learn about the overall need for societal improvement than become consumed with every element of one case.
“My kids know nothing about it,” says LeBron of his kids’ knowledge about Michael Brown and Officer Wilson. “I’m going to keep it away from them. It’s something they don’t need to be exposed to, but to be educated is more important.”
The NBA star also discusses his decision to wear an “I Can’t Breathe” t-shirt, whish is typically worn in support of the Eric Garner protests, during a recent game. “It was a message to the family that I’m sorry for their loss, sorry to his wife. That’s what it’s about. I think everybody else is caught up in everything else besides who’s feeling it, and that’s the family.”
LeBron is the proud father of two sons, Bryce and LeBron Jr., and a daughter named Zhuri. He and his wife Savannah celebrated their one year wedding anniversary in September.
