Ray Rice is coping and thinking of the future after assaulting his wife in an elevator earlier this year. The NFL star recently shared his heart with the ‘Today’ show about the incident that led to his suspension from the NFL and dismissal from the Baltimore ‘Ravens.’
“This is something, you know, as a man you have to own and, we’re horribly sorry, and I’m horribly sorry for everything that I have to put my family through,” said the star during the interview. Janay stood by her husband’s side as he shared his concerns with media.
“I still got to live every day, go take my daughter to school,” explained Ray. “She’s going to grow up and the way the Internet works now she’s going to Google her father’s name and the first thing that’s going to come up is, you know what’s going to come up.”
Ray came under much scrutiny after assaulting his wife in an elevator earlier this year. Janay, who was Ray’s fiancee at the time, was punched in the face by the NFL star after being involved in what could have been an argument.
“I realize football was one thing, but now I realize that the amount of people we’ve affected,” shared Ray during his interview with ‘Today.’ The star athlete went on to say, “The amount of families we’ve affected, that, you know, domestic violence is a real issue in society.”
Ray Rice has been reinstated by the NFL after several weeks of suspension. The Baltimore ‘Ravens’ opted not to take the player back. Ray and Janay have one child, Rayven, together.
