Cedric The Entertainer and the family stopped to take a few pictures on the red carpet at the 46th Annual Bredmond-Backewell Pioneer of African American Achievement Awards Gala this past Friday (November 7). The comedian smiled wide while surrounded by his wife and kids, Lucky and Croix, who were overjoyed to celebrate dad and his accomplishments.
Cedric was one of the honorees at this year’s ceremony. The Brotherhood Crusade brought to light the many communal efforts that Cedric has supported since rising to fame several decades ago. The charity gave special recognition to the comedian’s programs and events that have helped disadvantaged youth get ahead in life.
Although he was the man of the hour, Cedric didn’t consume all of the spotlight. The comedian was sure to brag on the Brotherhood Crusade and how its efforts are helping young African American men and women succeed. “They’re willing to get in there and go deep into the community and to that core, those African American males, those young women who are truly marginalized and can be left behind, and they’re serious about it,” said Cedric during the ceremony. “They are serious about enfranchising these kids and getting them to find themselves and helping them just discover their self-esteem.”
Cedric The Entertainer is the proud father of four kids. He and wife Lorna Kyles have been married for several years.
