It’s official — people cannot get enough of Zendaya right now. The Disney Channel has already moved forward, ordering the back nine episodes of K.C. Undercover, Zendaya’s newest show set to premiere early next year.
Episode 9 is currently shooting.
The show is both co-produced and starring Disney’s it-girl, Zendaya, who rose to stardom in 2010 for her role on Shake It Up. The 18-year-old Oakland native has been making waves ever since but has yet to stray from Disney. Earlier in the year she had been cast to portray the late Aaliyah in Lifetime’s upcoming biopic, but eventually stepped back from the role because of tension between the producers and Aaliyah’s family.
K.C. Undercover, however, has been highly anticipated since its inception in 2013. The show will follow K.C., a high school math whiz who is secretly training to become a super spy like her parents. Each episode places the family in a hilarious scenario as they try to balance typical family dynamics with their missions. back in May the show was picked up for a preliminary 13 episodes, and picking up the back nine for a full 22 episode season so soon is a very good sign. It’s clear the network has high hopes for this one.
