Diggy Simmons is as busy as ever. If constant touring while launching a hip hop career isn’t enough, he made time for a visit to SC State Campus to perform as part of the Youth and Army ROTC Day, October 11. To top it all off, he will be starring in the 2015 sitcom, The Start Up.
Headlining the annual Youth and Army ROTC Day is quite the honor. The event is meant to encourage kids aged 5-17 to check out the campus and enjoy a variety of activities, as well as the big game. A major motivation for kids looking to consider careers is sports was the opportunity to meet all the SC State athletic teams, along with other campus organizations such as the drumline for what has been named the “best band in the land” (Marching 101).
The day will also consisted of face painting and inflatable bouncers. At 2pm, the SC Bulldogs took to the field against the NC Eagles, but not before the highly anticipated pre-game performance by Diggy.
Diggy’s music career has been in full speed since he released his first mixtape in 2009. In 2011 he was named an Artist to Watch by Billboard, and in 2012 he won two awards from BET and the NAACP respectively.
