Trevor Jackson has the honor of gracing Glamaholic Magazine’s October issue. In the exclusive, the young star discussed his upcoming album and what he hopes to accomplish through his music.
Now 18, Trevor sees the main difference between his earlier EP and his debut album in his own level of maturity. “As I have grown up so has my music,” he explained. “I tried to make every song relatable regardless of age.” Being so involved in the writing and creative process means that he is particularly attached to each and every song. “Every song is special to me,” he noted.
Trevor also promises the album will feature some collaborations, but for the time being he is bound to secrecy. What he can say though, is that this album is meant to be listened to straight through as one complete project. For a young guy, he definitely has some strong notions about what music should be, and what he hopes his can be.
“I want to bring back R&B. I want to bring back the times when you played a CD from the beginning to the end. I want people to be able to escape and have an experience. I feel like all the songs are about relationships and people will be able to relate to experiences in their life.”
If there is one thing R&B is about, it’s passionate love. So what does Trevor look for in the romance department?
“I like a girl who is confident and really can be herself. If she doesn’t love herself, then how can I love her.” Trevor continued, “I just want her to want to have fun and be adventurous.”
