“There’s nothing like running around fighting zombies in the Georgia heat to stay in shape while pregnant” says actress Sonequa Martin-Green.
The 29 year old currently portrays Sasha on the hit AMC show, The Walking Dead. She has confirmed that she and husband Kenric Green, who the theatre major met while acting together in a play, are now expecting their first child. The baby boy is due in January.
While it must have been tough to shoot a zombie-apocolypse show while pregnant, at least everything has wrapped by now — the highly anticipated season 5 premier airs October 12th. While Sonequa entered the series in season 3, she only became a regular in season 4. Audiences everywhere couldn’t help but fall in love with her as her character refused to give up the search for her brother (played by Chad Coleman).
Avid followers will remember that the season finale left the cast in a vulnerable position, with Sasha and her gang found locked away, being held captive. No doubt then that season 5 would have been an action-intensive shoot!
