Former WNBA player Lisa Leslie and kids attended Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards 2014 at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion on July 17, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.
Lisa says that her kids Lauren,7, and Michael,4, were excited to be a part of the event and so was she. The mom of two says that such shows encourage kids to get active. “I think its amazing. It’s good for kids. Kids need to participate in sports and to have these different heroes to look up to.”
The 2014 Kids Choice Sports Awards show was the first of its kind where kids honored their favorite athletes, teams and sports moments from the year in one big, slimy sports celebration. Awards were presented to Kevin Durant for Best Male Athlete; Gabby Douglas for Best Female Athlete; Russell Wilson for Favorite Newcomer; Dez Bryant for Favorite Catch; Tim Howard for Best Save; and Serena Williams for Biggest Cannon. Dwyane Wade and Gabby Douglas took home the King and Queen of Swag blimps, while Carmelo Anthony nabbed the Clutch Player of the Year. Victor Cruz won the ‘How to Party Like a Sports Star’ award.
