Zion holds on to dad as Dwyane Wade and the Miami ‘Heat’ celebrate their success at the Eastern Conference Championship.
Dwyane lets off a huge smile as he holds his son close while on the court.
Miami beat out Indiana a few days ago, which made them eligible to compete against the San Antonio ‘Spurs’ for the NBA Championship. The ‘Spurs’ were successful in the Western Conference Championship with a 12-6 SU record. The ‘Heat’ comes to the NBA championship table with a 97.0 point average while their opponents comes with a score average of 97.7 points.
The competition will be fierce. “Hopefully, it’s not the same outcome as it was the first time around,” said Wade at a press conference. The basketball star was referring to Miami’s 2011 experience in which they lost to the Dallas ‘Mavericks.’ At the time, the ‘Heat’ was adjusting to new players and didn’t quite have the harmony needed to win an NBA title. Now we see a different team that works in good sync but Wade still says, “It’s going to be a big challenge” to win the title this year.
Although it will be a challenge, Dwyane has full confidence in his team’s ability. What’s more, the Miami ‘Heat’ captain has full confidence in his family to help him through the tough road ahead. The NBA star even had his eldest son with him while he was doing interviews at the Eastern Conference Championship. “He wants to meet you. My son wants to meet you,” said Wade to ESPN reporter Doris Burke. Apparently Zaire is a huge fan of the sports journalist.
Dwyane Wade has two kids, Zion and Zaire, with ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches. The NBA star also has a son named Xavier with Aja Metoyer. The Miami ‘Heat’ will begin contending for the NBA Championship on Thursday (June 5).
