Terry Crews loves his family, but admits that it has been a challenge for all members to blend and get along with one another.
“Having a blended family, the love is a little different,” says the star to Variety. “It’s almost like two bones that are broken, and once they fuse they’re really really super strong.”
Strength didn’t come over night as Crews explains in his book, Manhood. “I had to go back and realize that I had a lot of pain,” says the star of his writing experience. “It’s actually two books…the one I wrote and then the one I had to rewrite. You really have to kind of go back and examine what your problems are. There were points in the book where I was reading it and I was blaming people for stuff; I was a victim. I can’t do that. It’s really still hard to get over and to let go because you have to go back into all this stuff and dig. It was like going through a hoarder’s garage. It’s kind of like you’re with me while I’m cleaning all this stuff up.”
Terry Crews parents four kids with his wife, Rebecca King-Crews. The couple wed over twenty years ago.
