Alexis Stoudemire and the kids support Amar’e at the basketball game. All four of the kids appear to be excited to cheer their father on, with the youngest of the bunch holding on to a Spalding ball with all of his might. “Last game chewing on daddy…hope the kids wake up for school in the am!!! #statfam,” wrote Alexis on her Instagram page.
Amar’e can always count on his family to give him the support he needs to get through the rough spots. The NBA star recent sat down with Bleacher Report to talk about a tough time in his career that his wife and kids helped him through. “I happened to get married in December 2012, and that helped me through my difficult time because I could depend on my wife, Alexis, and children to help get me over the hump mentally,” said Amar’e. “My family has always been there and very supportive. When I see my children, I kind of forget about what happened.”
The sports player added, “I’ve also got my Team STAT. My business team is always optimistic, saying, ‘Hey, stay focused, keep working.’ And then when I get my eight hours of sleep, I wake up enthusiastic, ready to train, ready to work. So with building on that consistently, I’m positive about things.”
Stoudemire has played for the New York ‘Knicks’ for several years but is now rumored to be leaving the NBA for a career overseas. Amar’e and Alexis have two sons and two daughters together.
