Shanice: “It’s really hard. But when I need a little time off I just do things like go to the mall by myself, have some lunch, go to the gym…stuff like that. But when I take too much time, I feel bad. I feel guilty. When I leave town to sing, my kids, they cry.”

Holly: “I sneak out…As long as I don’t have my shoes on, my heels on, the kids don’t suspect anything…It could be anywhere. It could be a spa. It could be a Starbucks. It could be a little bistro where I’m by myself. I just need some me time. And sometimes they think I’m sneaking out but I go back upstairs and hide in my bathroom…I just need to be in the room, to have some ‘me time.'”

Laila: “As a mom, I use to feel really guilty with my two children, taking time for myself because I grew up with nannies, and I’ve always wanted to be very hands-on with my children…But I’ve learned [that] I can’t be my best self unless I get rest [and] unless I recharge.”

So what’s your take? To all the moms: Do you take time out for yourselves? What do you do to recharge and refocus? Share your remedies below!
