Jaid and Jax goof off with mom after a long day of school. The twins smile and show silly faces as mom, Garcelle Beauvais, holds them in her arms. “Nothing makes me happier then spending time with these two #mommylove#jaxandjaid#afterschool,” tweets Beauvais.
The mom of three recently told media that she wants her children to be proud of their heritage. “When Tiger Woods shot to fame and everybody was talking about him, when he didn’t refer to himself as black, I remember the black community being outraged by that,” said Garcelle. “But I don’t know why anybody [of mixed heritage] should have to choose. Why should my kids have to dismiss their dad’s heritage because they have a black mom? It just doesn’t make sense to me. Why can’t people just be happy with what they are and not have to choose,” asked the actress.
Jaid and Jax are Beauvais’ kids with ex-husband Mike Nilon. Garcelle also has an older son named Oliver from a previous relationship.
