Niecy Nash is one proud mom. The actress recently shared pictures of her daughter with friends at a birthday celebration. Niecy couldn’t help but gush about her daughter’s creative ability, pointing out that Dia rocked the house while singing along with her friends. “That’s how we roll! All love supporting our girls @ninabeanzz@alwaysimani@dialarennash. They sang at my bday celebration & shut it down! So proud of you girls,” tweeted Nash. The star further wrote, “How much do we love these little ladies ??? More than they know ! We are so proud of you!!@sislovespurple@shaniceonline our girls did that!!”
Niecy has been exploring different routes of comedy lately, adding the darker side of laughter to her repertoire. The actress tells HBO of her experience with portraying DiDi Ortley in ‘Getting On,’ pointing out that dark comedy “is something I didn’t have on my resume. At first the producers said ‘no’ when I asked to audition for her because they couldn’t see me in the role. But once I started to explain what I loved about the character and they saw how excited I was, they finally agreed. I’m so happy they did, because that’s the role I wound up booking — Marta eventually became DiDi.”
‘Getting On’ made its debut on ‘HBO’ last year. The second season of the show will premiere in coming months.
