A trip down memory lane ended on a spectacular note for Chris Paul this week. The Los Angeles ‘Clippers’ player stopped by the Andrew H. Wilson Charter School in New Orleans to talk to kids about healthy living, bringing his son, Chris Paul II, along for the ride. Chris Sr., gave a dynamic speech about how eating right and exercising can lead to a long and happy life while Chris II sat nearby and watched his dad talk.

Paul and WNBA All-Star Ruth Riley visited Andrew H. Wilson Charter School as members of the NBA Cares Community Caravan. Chris Paul is also a member of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition so the visit was extra special for him. “It is great for us to be in a position where people can see what leading a healthy and active lifestyle can do for them,” said the NBA star to media. “I know my son looks up to players like Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin, so I tell him if he doesn’t eat all of his breakfast they will get on to him, and he really responds to that. My son looking up to my fellow players in the NBA made me realize that I am probably that role model for other people, other young children, and I get to be in the position where I can send them a positive message.”

Paul has been making his rounds in New Orleans all week, remembering the good ole days of playing for the ‘Hornets’ at the beginning of his career. Chris has stopped by his old church and a number of other special spots in town since landing in the Big Easy last weekend. Chris has two kids, Chris II and Camryn, with wife Jada Crawley-Paul.
