Kudos for Kym Whitley who took in Joshua after his biological mother gave him up for adoption at birth. The actress recently told The Grio that her son’s birth mom recently sent her a text message, thanking her for taking Joshua in and being such a great mother.
Whitley was brought to tears when telling Chris Witherspoon, “I recently received a text from her, a text that just blew me away. She said ‘I want to thank you for taking care of Joshua. You are a wonderful mother. You are his mother. I believe that I was put on this earth to give you this baby.’ She’s been watching the show and she said ‘I can’t think of a greater person, and I thank you for taking him.'” Simply touching.
Kym Whitley adopted Joshua in 2011 after being informed that his biological mother had given her name as a potential guardian for her son. The actress can be seen every week with Joshua on her reality show, ‘Raising Whitley,’ which airs on Oprah’s OWN network.
