It was a “Rub-a-Dub” soiree for Mike Wayans and Vanessa Simmons who went all out to give their baby a spectacular first party. The parents-to-be collaborated with Cairo’s Customs to create a beautiful shower that had lots of color and gifts for all. “This was such a joyous event for Mike and I and our families,” Vanessa tells ESSENCE.com. “The room was filled with so much Love and Laughter all in Honor [of] our lil Angel.”
Vanessa and Mike celebrated the impending arrival of their baby girl with a star-studded baby shower at the Sugar Factory in Hollywood over the weekend. Guests included the couple’s fathers Rev. Run and Damon Wayans, Russell Simmons, Tyrese and Shawn and Marlon Wayans.
All guests left with gift bags filled with hair products from Dream Kids by Strength of Nature and assorted candy from Sugar Factory. Go inside the couple’s star-studded shower below!
Vanessa and Mike worked with Citron Caterers to create a special menu that included sourdough grilled cheese fingers topped with “A” (for the baby’s initial which will be revealed soon) served atop roasted tomato soup shooters.
Tyrese and daughter supported the couple.
The cake was designed by Special Cakes By Ruben complete with blinged-out rubber ducks.
