You have seen the pics, now relive Julez’s spectacular night of hanging with the grown-ups at his grandma’s masquerade ball. According to editor Joy Sewing, Julez danced with party guests and mingled while his mom, Solange, and aunt, Beyonce, did a great job of hosting their mom’s sixtieth birthday party in New Orleans.
The Chron editor writes,
“A private dinner for Tina and VIP guests was held upstairs until shortly after 9, when Solange, who now calls New Orleans home, invited all of the other guests up for dancing. Solange’s 9-year-old son, Julez, looked like he was having fun dancing with the grown-ups.
Among the first songs played was the line dance ‘The Wobble,’ with Beyoncé, wearing a beautiful off-white beaded gown with a plunging back, headed up the front row. (I actually ‘wobbled’ behind her trying to keep up.)
The DJ was on fire with a mix of dance music, R&B, rap and old-school soul that kept the partiers dancing long past 1:30 a.m., when many women, including me, took off their heels to dance barefoot. Every celebrity — except Jay-Z who stayed by his mother’s side at a dinner table — gave the dance floor a workout.
One of the most emotional moments of the night came when Solange and Beyoncé told of their deep love for their mother and showed a video celebrating her 60 years. It featured friends and family.
‘I’m so happy to have you as my mother, and the world is so happy to have you on this Earth,’ Beyoncé said in the video. ‘I hope you dance and sing and are as crazy … and free as that woman on that motorcycle in Galveston, Texas, 30 years ago.’ (Tina was BOI.)
The video ended with Bey and a sweet Blue Ivy offering birthday wishes.”
