Cheers to Kimora Lee Simmons for donating thousands to LIFE CAMP, Inc. The model and businesswoman gave the non-profit $50,000 in funding, which went towards re-launching after the organization experienced financial difficulty that led to temporary closure.
Erica Ford, Founder and Executive Director of LIFE CAMP, expressed pure gratitude in receiving Kimora’s generous donation saying, “Our doors have been re-opened because of the generosity of Ms. Simmons as well as the over 500 other amazing people who have donated to our program. We are fully operational and look forward to continuing the work to keep our community safe.”
Kimora was delighted to help the anti-violence organization telling media, “As a mother, an entrepreneur and a community member, I’m so proud to support LIFE CAMP and the work its founder Erica Ford has done to alleviate gun violence. The only way we will heal a country that is being torn apart by excessive violence is by properly funding groups that do the grassroots work in the community. I am proud to support such an important program.”
Erica Ford founded LIFE CAMP in 2002 to teach violence prevention in schools. The organization has since grown to focus on violence prevention in communities, encouraging underprivileged youth to make positive contributions to society.
Kimora Lee Simmons has three kids in all. Find out more about LIFE CAMP at the organization’s website.
