Connor Cruise is officially a producer. The son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman recently released his first single, “Closer to Heaven,” with the help of a few of his famous friends.
Mason Musso, Metro Station, and DJ Poet all had a hand in creating the track along with Connor, who mixed and meshed the single to perfection. Although the singing is the main event, listeners can clearly hear the beats created by Cruise that come off the record and into the car or living quarters.
Connor recently told Billboard that he is excited about his new venture into the music industry as a producer, and is grateful to have someone like DJ Poet as his guide. “I have always loved working with DJ Poet,” says Cruise. “Ever since I started producing he has really helped to mentor and guide me through the whole world of music.”
Of the song, the teenager says, “I was trying to make an upbeat commercial dance music track that makes you feel good and is more of an anthem.”
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman adopted Connor a few years after he was born in 1995. The former couple also have a daughter named Isabella.
