Russell Simmons, daughters Ming and Aoki Simmons, and Kenzo Hounsou wore their best attire to the 14 annual ‘Art For Life’ Gala, held in the Hamptons this past weekend.
Simmons holds his ‘Art For Life’ Gala every year in hopes of raising funds for the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation. This year Russell raised a whopping $1.5 million for his organization, which will go towards helping inner city youth advance in the arts.
For more than 15 years, the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation has served as an outlet for kids in New York City who desire to develop and nurture their artistic talents. The arts foundation has helped thousands of youth since its inception and continues to serve as a positive force in urban areas.
Tyler Perry and William D. Johnson were two of several honorees celebrated for their creativity in film and onstage at the Gala. Anthony Andersen served as host for the Rush Kids Auction event that encouraged attendees to support the arts by purchasing an original painting created by a child in the philanthropic foundation. The entertainment was lively as well, with Rick Ross and Estelle bringing the house down with stellar performances. Record executive Kevin Liles was also in attendance for the festivities.
Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee-Simmons have two kids, Ming and Aoki, together. Kenzo is Kimora’s son with ex-beau Djimon Hounsou. Find out more about the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation here.
