Joshua spread the word about his reality show onstage as mom, Kym Whitley, sat nearby at the 2013 Summer Critics Association tour on Thursday (July 25). The toddler joined his mom at the ‘Raising Whitley’ discussion panel during OWN network’s showcasing portion of the event. Joshua stood tall as mom talked about the show, wearing red lips and big teeth that added to his cuteness.
Kym adopted Josh in 2011 after being given just over one hour to decide if she wanted to be a mother. “The lady at the other end [of the telephone] began to explain how a young woman that I had mentored told them that she wanted me to have her newborn son. I politely asked for a week or so to think about it. The woman responded, ‘You have an hour and a half,'” said Whitley during a talk with Katie Couric.
‘Raising Whitley’ is a show about Kym’s life after the celeb decided to embrace motherhood. Fans get to see the comedienne in all of her greatness and nervousness as she and her village attempt to rear Joshua in the right direction.
Joshua is Kym’s only child.
