Jay-Z is aiming to be the best father to Blue and will stop at nothing to accomplish his goal. The artist recently shared his heart with producer Rick Rubin during a Samsung promo video that served to spread the word about his upcoming album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. Although he talked about the upcoming record, including a song called ‘Jay-Z Blue’ which is dedicated to his daughter, Jay couldn’t help but express his desire to be a great dad to Blue during his promo segment.
“[The album] deals with [the fact that] my pop left when I was young. He didn’t teach me how to be a man nor how to raise a child — or treat a woman,” said Jay to Rick. “The two things I need, I don’t have … and I have a daughter. It’s [about] the paranoia of not being a great dad,” explained the artist.
Jay has been protective of his daughter every since discovering that he would be a father over a year ago. The artist has been spotted out-and-about with Blue and Beyonce on several occasions, holding his daughter close as the public looks in adoration.
Blue Ivy is Jay-z and Beyonce’s first child together. The couple welcomed the little one into the world on January 7, 2012.
