LaTavia Roberson got in on all the laughs as she bumped around the ‘Great Gatsby’ reception Wednesday (May 8) in Atlanta, Georgia. The former ‘Destiny’s Child’ singer showed off her protruding belly for all reception guests to see and proudly posed on the red carpet as cameras snapped away.
LaTavia is scheduled to perform at the 2013 Komen Atlanta Race for the Cure on Saturday, May 11, 2013. The R&B sensation, along with thousands of other attendees, will be in full support of finding a cure for breast cancer as they run and sing to spread awareness. Roberson has already placed her stake in the ground as one who is completely behind Komen’s 5K race for a cure of a disease that claims the lives of thousands every year.
According to statistics from the American Cancer Society, 1 in 8 (12%) women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. Among the 12% diagnosed, just over 30,000 are speculated to die from the disease. LaTavia along with Komen are looking to lower those numbers significantly by educating women about the symptoms of breast cancer and aiding medical researchers in finding a cure for the disease.
