At just 3-years-old, David Otunga Jr. is making his film debut alongside mom, Jennifer Hudson, in the upcoming movie, Black Nativity. Jennifer, who will star as a single mom in the film, will sing and act like only she can while her son makes a cameo.
Hudson recently told USA Today that David Jr. showed persistence that paid off when trying to be a part of Black Nativity. “He came to the set quite a bit, actually. He put himself in the film as one of the extras. He is a little industry baby. He sits in the director’s chair and puts on the headphones,” said the actress.
Jennifer was both thrilled and honored to work with Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker during the making of the film telling the press, “I love them so much. I looked up to them as a kid. And now that they are my mum and dad – that’s too much.”
Black Nativity will make its debut later this year. Jennifer and fiance David Otunga Sr. have one child together.
