Monyetta Shaw recently debuted her children’s book, ‘The Adventures of Maddie,’ with kids Madilyn,2, and Mason,1, on her mind. The author told Chasing Twins that inspiration to write the book came from her little ones.
“Motherhood inspired me to write the book,” said Shaw. “It was my way of scrap-booking my children’s lives, it was important to me that they have a documented legacy to cherish for the rest of their lives. Yes, this is the first book within the children’s series that will include up to 8 books.”
Although her schedule is sometimes hectic as a children’s author and girlfriend to one of the most celebrated R&B artists in the industry, Monyetta tries to maintain a certain level of normalcy for her children’s sake. “We are rooted in a power higher than ourselves, staying consistent with a level of normalcy and routine for our children keeps us grounded, and allows me to be the mother I want to be for my children; and the woman I want to be for my family,” explained Monyetta to Chasing Twins.
Shaw and Ne-Yo parent two kids together. The R&B sensation gave well wishes to his girlfriend via web cam as he could not be in attendance at Shaw’s debut party.
