FIRST FAMILY WELCOMES WHITE HOUSE CHRISTMAS TREE

First Lady Michelle Obama leaned forward to smell the freshness of the tree as she gave the 19-foot Fraser Fir two thumbs up. “I’s a  go. We’re good. We can have Christmas now,” said the First Lady. This year’s tree was provided by the National Christmas Tree Association through Peak Farms in Ashe County, North Carolina. It is the first year that the president and vice president’s Christmas trees have come from the same state.

The Fraser Fir will be ready for display in the Blue Room after the First Family decorates. The National Christmas Tree Association has given Christmas trees to the White House since 1966.
