ALIA ROSE TO RELEASE MOM’S POSTHUMOUS ALBUM

Alia Rose is determined to carry on the memory of her mother Teena Marie, who passed away two years ago. The teen recently announced that she will be releasing her mom’s final songs, recorded just before her death, in January 2013.

“The project was a bittersweet thing. I knew that only I could get it done, but I almost didn’t want to finish because I knew it would be the last time I’d get to work on it,” said Rose. “If you listen to the lyrics, it’s almost as if she was making that transition to the spiritual world as the record was being made, which is incredible. It’s like we’re going on this journey with her.”

Alia co-wrote several songs that will be featured on the track and hopes that the first track, entitled “Luv Letter,” pays honors both to her mother and father. Rose is considering the music industry as a career path.
