Jermaine Dupri and Shaniah Mauldin went on their first father-daughter international trip to Australia this past summer. Dupri was especially excited about the trip, as it was his daughter’s first vacation outside of the States. “I’m so happy that [Shaniah] is old enough to travel and kick it with me, this is her first international trip. I think I’m more excited than she is,” tweeted the producer upon arriving in Sydney, Australia.
Although he has longed to take Shaniah out of the country, Jermaine credits MTV as his inspiration for taking his teen this year. “I woke up [one] morning and saw @lupefiasco on MTV breakdown from thinking about kids in his hood not being able to get out and how the scenery never changes. I totally understand what he was saying and I feel it’s our jobs as parents and friends to show kids [there’s] way more to life than what they see and hear about,” tweeted the celeb.
