ALFRE WOODARD TAKES UP WORK TO DEAL WITH EMPTY NEST SYNDROME

Alfre Woodard uses acting as treatment for Empty Nest Syndrome. The ‘True Blood’ actress recently told the Associated Press that she’s hard at work promoting her new venture, ‘Steel Magnolias,’ to suppress the idea of her son and daughter not being at home anymore.

“I’m three weeks into my empty nest and I’m still a little weepy,” said the actress. “[Raising my son and daughter] was just the most incredible human experience I think that I could have, and I miss it terribly.”

In missing her children, Alfre is thankful to have the opportunity to work alongside Queen Latifah and Jill Scott in her new gig. “When you take care of (parenting) with good motives, then the universe takes care of other things and has people call you saying, ‘Hey, snap out of it, mommy, and bring your storytelling butt to work.'”

‘Steel Magnolias’ premieres October 7, 2012 on Lifetime.
