Football may not have been David Robinson’s sport but that does not stop him from being supportive of his 17-year-old son Corey. Since committing to the sport over two years ago, Corey has soared as a high school football athlete.
“He’s the type of kid who will figure it all out,” says proud papa David. “He’s an over-achiever. He’s diligent and figures things out. He’s a great kid. I’m very proud of him.”
“Being David Robinson’s son, people expect you to play basketball,” Corey added. “And every time you perform you have to prove yourself and that I’m not given anything.”
“It’s nice to have a Hall of Fame dad to talk to about athletic things. Even though he didn’t play football, he knows how to use his body, how to block out and of course, how to conduct yourself with people and teammates and coaches.”
Corey has received several scholarship offers from prominent universities since showing his talents on the field and in the classroom. The future biology or business major is set to attend the university of Notre Dame next year.
