Tyrese Gibson is adding poetry to his resume. The singer and actor recently composed a poem just for Father’s Day entitled, ‘My Back’, in which he talks about how his dad was always accessible to him as a child.
Gibson writes, “When I had nightmares I would run into my daddy’s arms and he would say “Don’t worry baby, daddy is here… My heartbeat would slow down and my fear would go away because my daddy had “My Back”/When I was being bullied at school, I knew they would keep bullying me if my daddy didn’t show up and have ‘My Back.'” The singer thanked his dad for not being a “child support payment,” and encouraged all fathers to “Do what you have to do to be more a part of your child’s life.”
Gibson is the proud father of one child, Shayla Gibson. Check out the singer’s poem here.
