Fashionista Kimora Lee-Simmons sat down with Babble to talk fashion and motherhood. Kimora gave insight into the fashion essential for stay-at-home moms and her make-up policy for young girls.
On striving to have a great body with kids.
“I’m a mother of three and my youngest will be three [years old] soon-so I’m active! What’s important to me is people know I’m not one of those ‘bikini babes’ you see on magazines in the checkout line. I’m a real woman with a real body that I appreciate because it allows me to be a mom to three amazing kids and work and love and, yes, eat. But also stay active and enjoy life. I’m thankful for my body regardless of what it can or can’t fit into.”

“A chic dress will take you further than you’d ever dreamed. Create a day-to-night illusion by switching up accessories-shoes and bags. My company Just Fabulous offers the latest in contemporary accessories at a chic price. Glam-for-day to me means unexpected-a touch of the feminine or whimsical. Sometimes all you need is one chic accessory to knock it out of the park!”

“Well what’s great is we’re fans of the natural look in our house. I’m not sure the girls are into really dramatic or editorial looks-for now, anyway. And a lot of their beauty icons and women they look to have more clean approaches to color. But definitely no color until they’re in their teens. Non-negotiable. A little lip gloss earlier maybe. Maybe.”
