After seven years of marriage and four adorable children, Heidi Klum and Seal have decided to separate. The couple told People magazine,
“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.
We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.
We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”
Klum and Seal were married in 2005 after several months of courtship. Seal adopted Leni,7, in 2009 after desiring that she have the same last name as the couple’s three other children. As the Grammy winner explains, “It doesn’t make her any more or less my daughter. She always has been. All it means is that both Heidi and I wanted her to have the same last name as the rest of us.” Henry,6, Johan,5, and Lou,2, are also Heidi and Seal’s children.
