Actor Alimi Ballard and his daughter Naya,6, were photographed backstage at the filming of the 2012 Greater Than AIDS PSA; an initiative made possible by the Black Aids Institute.
For over a decade the Black AIDS Institute has endeavored to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS in African American communities. The Institute operates with the motto, “Our People, Our Problem, Our Solution.”
As part of the solution, the Institute fully supports educating African American communities about AIDS. The organization also interprets legislation pertaining to HIV/AIDS and keeps the public informed of significant changes in health care when it affects current treatment methods for the virus.
The Black AIDS Institute released a public service announcement last year that advocated for ending the AIDS epidemic among African Americans. Click here for last year’s PSA.
Other celebrities who participated in the 2012 PSA included Samuel Jackson, Vanessa Williams and others.
