SHERRI SHEPHERD MAKES HOLIDAY PLANS WITH FAMILY

The View Co-host Sherri Shepherd, her son Jeffrey,6, and husband Lamar Sally are planning an eventful first Christmas together. Sherri states, “It’s really pretty special. This is our first year as a family, with me being married. We went into pictures with Santa Claus, and Jeffery did it. And Sal goes, ‘Well, are we all going to sit with Santa?’ And I was like, ‘What?’ And he said, ‘It’s our first year being married.’ So we did that and it was a lot of fun.”

Although the couple is enjoying the company of one another this Christmas, they have not neglected to spend time with both sides of the family. Shepherd explains, “We did Thanksgiving with his family in Detroit, so Christmas time is all Sherri Shepherd’s side of the family. Our last day here [in New York] is December 23, and then we’re on a plane to California. My cousins, sisters are in California, so he’s going to be surrounded by a whole bunch of women cooking.”

As far as gifts are concerned Shepherd says, “The thing that I’ve gotten for Jeffery [ex-husband] was the Oral B toothbrush. And I wasn’t sure how it was going to work with him, but he really likes it. The vibration of the toothbrush really calms him down before he goes to bed. So, because it worked with Jeffery, I’m going to get one of those for all my nieces and nephews. I always tell people don’t buy me anything, because I’m so blessed and have so many things. But my nieces and nephews would just make me little things, and those are the most precious things to me. My nephew, just for Christmas, he wrote me a letter telling me what I meant to him. Stuff like that is what I treasure more than just a gift.”

Sherri and Lamar pronounced their wedding vows on August 13, 2011. Shepherd’s son is from a previous marriage.
