President Obama is known as an online socialite, having a Twitter and Facebook page, and email address that he checks often. Although he is into social networking, Obama does not want his daughters Sasha,10, and Malia,13, to interact on the web.
The President and First Lady recently told People magazine that he and First Lady Michelle do not allow their children to engage in social networking activity. The Obamas state, “Why would we want to have a whole bunch of people who we don’t know knowing our business? That doesn’t make much sense.”
Although Facebook and Twitter are off limits, Sasha and Malia enjoy television shows with their parents. “For the girls and me, Modern Family, that’s our favorite show,” the President says, adding that he is “a little darker” when watching television alone. During his independent time, Obama enjoys watching Boardwalk Empire and Homeland in addition to sports.
“Yes,” said the First Lady with a laugh, “we don’t [always] watch TV with him.”
