Gabrielle also helped Team USA win the gold medal at the 2011 USA World Championship this past October in Tokyo, Japan.

A growing success, Douglas’ journey to triumph began at the tender age of four when she taught herself how to cartwheel with one hand. Since then, the young gymnast has entered numerous competitions and been successful. In 2008 alone Douglas qualified as a Junior International Elite athlete, and won the silver medal on the balance beam at the Region VII Championships.

Gabrielle hopes that her success as a gymnast will serve as inspiration to other African American girls.
