In his first interview since being released from an Atlanta halfway house , rapper T.I.(and his son Major) sat down with V-103’s Ryan Cameron to talk about his new music, his new family documentary, the OMG Girlz, and more. Here are highlights from the interview:
On his kids seeing him for the first time: “I’m a big family guy and I got a big family and I’m a huge, huge part of it. I missed them as well as they missed me too so it was a big moment. See, that brings me to my next announcement. We have a documentary, television show. I’m going to stay way from the term reality show because there is somewhat of a stigma to it. Anything you associate my name with is going to be eloquent, classy, and ghetto at the same time but we got a show and we captured some of those moments. So you’ll be able to see for yourself.”
On his new family documentary: “It’s the balance between the T.I. on stage and on television and the daddy at home. The father, the husband, the son, the cousin, the brother, the friend. You know what i’m saying? Just that balance of business, personal, and of professional.”
He says his fans will be surprised to see how ‘hands-on” he is with his family in the new documentary. “I guess people see me to be a public image before they see me as a family man.”
On the OMG Girlz: “I am really, really proud of them. Not only is that my daughter, my wife, my nieces, and my family, but they got jamming music. Even as an executive, as a CEO, i have to recognize talent when i see it. They work hard and they music hot!”
