Connie recently recently told Amanda De Cadenet of The Conversation that she and Eyob chose one another. “[Eyob and I] chose each other,” said Britton. “I think I’ve always known I was going to be a mother. It took me about a year to do all the paperwork for the adoption then I was on a waiting list for two years, just waiting to get a referral. One day I got a call from [the adoption agency] and they said ‘We have a referral for you,’ and then they emailed the picture of [Eyob]. It was sot of an indescribable thing because in that moment I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s my son.'”
Eyob is Connie’s first child.
