Quavo has confirmed that he is a father.
During a new interview with Complex, the rapper opened up about his daughter after recently giving fans their first glimpse of the little girl in a short film for his upcoming album, QRÖMELIFE.
Asked how fatherhood has changed him, he said:
“I mean, that’s just adding more fuel to the fire, and it’s a blessing that God gave me, being that I’m coming from so much, and I ain’t even know what was happening.”
He continued, “It’s a whole new state. It brings joy to me. It brings a new reason why I’m doing this. It brings, like, a new hunger, a new fire to me, and I’m just, you know, proud to be a father now, because we used to always talk about that. I’m just happy about it. It’s just I’m real sensitive when it come to that. That’s my soft part.”
The 35-year-old also shared some of the moments he enjoys most with his baby.
“Just seeing her, like, seeing her smile, you know, seeing her call me Dad, just looking just like me. That’s the scary and beautiful part about it. You know, keeping her happy, you know, not telling her no, spoiling the [bleep] out of her, but just, you know, just being there for her. I’m real sensitive when it come to that,” he said.
On Monday, the Migos star introduced his baby girl in the QRÖMELIFE short film. The visual reflects on grief, faith, family and his life after the death of his nephew and groupmate Takeoff.
“No matter what God puts you through, you always gonna shine. Been through the pain, been through the storm, and came out chrome,” he says.
The video then cuts to him holding the baby girl.
“Hey pretty girl,” he tells her.
The film ends with one final message.
“And always remember, you do it for the family.”
Rumors that Quavo and former collegiate gymnast Erica Fontaine had quietly welcomed a child together first surfaced in 2024.
At the time, the rapper shared a now-deleted video from a private jet where a baby could be heard crying in the background.
On Tuesday, shortly after the short film was released, Fontaine posted an Instagram Story showing herself holding a little girl whose face was mostly out of view.
Neither she nor Quavo has publicly said whether they share a child.
QRÖMELIFE is set to arrive Oct. 2.
