Jennifer Freeman had a full-circle moment when she got to cheer alongside her daughter, Isabella “Bella” Watson, at a recent school event.
The experience took the actress back to her time on My Wife and Kids and she shared why in an Instagram post over the weekend.
“Bella’s school did a special dance with the football and cheer moms and I still can’t believe she actually asked me to do it with her,” Freeman wrote.
The actress admitted that while IsaBella has always had moves, dancing has never exactly been her forte.
“Bella has always been a great dancer. Me, on the other hand… I’ve always been pretty much the same,” she wrote.
Freeman found a throwback from her My Wife and Kids days that seemed to back her up. In the scene, her character Claire Kyle was noticeably less than graceful while cheering.
“Which made it even funnier when I found this clip of me on My Wife and Kids playing a cheerleader at 16 which is the exact same age Bella is now,” she shared. “16 then vs. 16 now. What a full-circle moment.”
Bella is Freeman’s only child with former NBA player Earl Watson. When the teenager turned 16 last year, the actress reflected on how much becoming a mother had changed her life.
“You made me a mom and every day since you’ve brought so much purpose, joy, and love into my life. I still can’t believe you’re 16! It feels like just yesterday I held you for the first time,” she wrote.
She also spoke about the qualities she admires most in Bella.
“You have the biggest heart, a beautiful sense of humor, and a wisdom beyond your years. I am so proud of the young lady you have become kind, strong, resilient, and true to yourself. You are my greatest blessing, and I am forever grateful that you chose me to walk alongside you as your mom.”
