Mariska Hargitay made the 2026 Emmy Awards a family affair.
The actress, who hosted the Sept. 14 ceremony, brought husband Peter Hermann and all three of their children, August, 20, Amaya, 15, and Andrew, 14, along for the big night.
While the men looked dapper in black tuxedos, it was Hargitay’s matching moment with Amaya that stole the spotlight on the red carpet.
The mother-daughter duo wore sparkling red Monse gowns covered in sequins and feather detailing. Hargitay chose a floor-length version with a dramatic feathered train, while Amaya wore a shorter take on the look and completed her outfit with red heels.
The dresses were inspired by Hargitay’s late mother, actress Jayne Mansfield, who wore a similar ruby-colored dress in the 1956 film “The Girl Can’t Help It.”
The tribute was especially meaningful after Hargitay spent much of the year honoring her mother through “My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay.” The documentary earned two Creative Arts Emmy wins earlier this month, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special and Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program.
The wins added to an already memorable Emmy night for Hargitay, who was also taking on hosting duties for the first time. The “Law & Order: SVU” star became the first woman to solo-host the ceremony since Jane Lynch in 2011.
Before the show, Hargitay spoke about how much it meant to have her family there supporting her.
“I just feel so supported, and I have the world’s greatest husband who’s just been with me every step of the way,” Hargitay told PEOPLE. “My kids are excited, and my friends are excited. I am having the time of my life.”
Hargitay and Hermann met on the set of “Law & Order: SVU” and married in 2004. They welcomed their eldest son, August, in 2006. Five years later, the couple adopted Amaya in April 2011, and Andrew joined the family through adoption six months later.
