Amerie and Lenny Nicholson’s divorce has officially been finalized, and newly surfaced court documents are revealing new details about the split.
According to TMZ, the singer was awarded primary physical custody of the son she shares with Nicholson. Her ex-husband was granted parenting time every third weekend and ordered to pay $2,298 a month in child support.
The filings revealed the former couple did not share any joint bank accounts or real estate at the time the divorce was finalized.
As such, Amerie gets to keep several of her businesses, including Amerie Inc., Cer One Touring and Mi Suk Publishing. She also retained ownership of her 2016 Range Rover. Nicholson was ordered to return TV music tracks along with an external hard drive containing Amerie’s work.
The divorce proceedings were far from amicable.
Nicholson alleged he spent more than 20 years helping build and manage Amerie’s career. In legal filings, he claimed he worked as her manager, business strategist, performance director and tour producer throughout their relationship.
He also claimed he was never fully compensated for the work he performed during the marriage and requested $1.75 million in unpaid commissions, along with spousal support and additional damages.
Nicholson further alleged that Amerie left the marital home in 2024 while he was recovering from surgery. He claimed he later covered close to $44,000 in rent and household expenses on his own.
He also accused the singer of spending roughly $20,000 on cosmetic procedures and taking luxury vacations. In addition, he claimed she used a marketing strategy he created after relaunching her music career.
According to the final judgment, Amerie’s monthly income was listed at $5,735, while Nicholson’s income was reportedly listed at $10,000 per month.
Amerie first confirmed the breakup during an interview in June 2025.
