Singer Mario is a doting dad.
On Monday, the R&B artist took to Instagram to share photos along with a message dedicated to his baby boy, Lord Nasir Barrett. In the caption, he reflected on fatherhood and showed appreciation for his partner, Esmeralda.
“Lord Nasir Barrett. Thank you for choosing me to be your father, protector, and unconditional loving guiding light! God knew I needed you because every time I hold you I heal a part of myself,” he wrote.
Mario also praised Esmeralda for her role as a mother. He added, “Esmeralda thank you for this gift. Thank you for trusting my process, you’ve made mothering look so easy because you love it so much. I’m proud of you and enjoy giving you the space to just be a mom. I feel it’s all God giving me the experience I missed as a kid. Love you both, let’s make it magickal!”
Esmeralda responded in the comments, saying, “My heart. I love you both with my whole heart and soul. Thank you for being the most amazing father & partner. You are truly a special man.”
Fans also reacted in the with one person writing, “I know y’all did not name this baby Lord,.”
Another person added a message of support, saying, “Awww! Congratulations to you both.”
Earlier this year, Mario shared how becoming a father had changed him.
“Staring at you because I love you soo much and I didn’t even know I could love like this without question! You make me better already. You just helped me break a cycle that only God could sever! Thank you Lord!” he wrote.
Mario and Esmeralda welcomed their son in January. He announced the news on Instagram Stories, where he posted a selfie of himself blue medical scrubs.
“Women are God’s greatest creation cuz what I witnessed today was ONLY GOD’S work! Healthy baby boy!” he captioned the snapshot.
