Netflix’s Unicorn Academy returns next month with a new chapter that raises the stakes, deepens friendships and introduces a possible new “frenemy.”

The new season will bring back familiar heroes while introducing new challenges, and a possible new rival for behind the academy walls.

The story takes place at a boarding school on Unicorn Island, where students train to become skilled unicorn riders. At the center is Sophia and her unicorn, Wildstar, alongside their close-knit group known as the Sapphires. This season, their peaceful island faces its most dangerous threat yet with the return of the villainous Ravenzella, Queen of Grimoria. Determined to defeat her once and for all, the girls learn of an ancient legend about a powerful tiara fueled by six fairy gemstones, the only force capable of stopping Ravenzella permanently.
When Sophia and Wildstar discover one of the long-lost gemstones from the shattered Fairy Tiara, they set off on a sweeping adventure across the island to recover the remaining stones. Restoring the tiara’s magic won’t just help them defeat evil; it will also unlock powerful new “gemstone tack” for their unicorns. But the journey will demand courage, teamwork, and unwavering trust.
Complicating matters is Serena Furi, a glamorous pop star with ties to the Academy whose arrival stirs tension within the dorm. As friendships are tested, the Sapphires must learn to rely on one another more than ever.
In addition to Kamaia Fairburn lending her voice to Layla Fletcher, the series also stars Sophia Mendoza, Kolton Stewart, Sara Garcia, among others. With stunning animation and themes of loyalty and partnership, the new season premieres March 19, 2026, on Netflix.
