Chrissy Teigen’s kids, Wren and Esti, had the cutest reaction to seeing her on television.
On Thursday, Jan. 22, the 40-year-old shared an Instagram video of her youngest children, daughter Esti, 3, and son Wren, 2, watching her appear on Netflix’s revival of Star Search. Teigen is one of the show’s celebrity judges alongside Jelly Roll and Sarah Michelle Gellar, with Anthony Anderson serving as host.
In the clip, Esti and Wren sit side by side on the couch as the series plays on the TV. At first, Wren looks unsure about what he’s seeing.
“Is it scary?” Wren asked.
“No it’s not scary,” the mother-of-four replied. “Look at it, it’s mommy,” she continued, turning her phone towards the television as she walked onto the stage with her fellow judges.
When the Cravings cookbook author turned the camera back towards her kids, the reaction was less than enthusiastic. Esti and Wren looked confused and unimpressed, seemingly unsure how their mom could be both on the couch and on the screen.
“That’s mommy you guys,” she said again.
“Why? Who?” Wren asked, glancing around the room. He then appeared to wonder aloud, “Why is she there?” before adding, “We’re watching the show!”
“Yeah!” Chrissy squealed in response.
The moment finally clicked for Esti. Spotting her mom on TV, she shouted, “That’s momma! That’s mommy!” as the former Sports Illustrated model laughed and shared in their excitement.
“The reviews are in! @starsearchnetflix is 1, not scary and 2, that’s mommy (delayed),” Teigen wrote in her caption.
Earlier this month, the 40-year-old was announced as a judge on Star Search, which premiered Jan. 20 and will air for five weeks, with the finale scheduled for Feb. 17.
“Each episode will spotlight the best up-and-coming performers across numerous categories — music, dance, variety, comedy, magic and juniors — as they compete head to head for their shot at stardom,” Netflix said in an official description of the show.
The original Star Search series aired from 1983 to 1995, with a short revival from 2003 to 2004. Over the years stars that appeared on the show include: Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Dave Chappelle and Adam Sandler.
In addition to Esti and Wren, Chrissy and her husband, John Legend, are also parents to daughter Luna, 9, and son Miles, 7.
