Jhené Aiko and O’Ryan’s daughter Namiko rang in her 17th birthday on November 19th.
To mark the occasion, O’Ryan posted a tribute on Instagram, sharing a video montage showing Nami throughout the years.
In his caption, O’Ryan reflected on how meaningful the experience of raising a teenager has been for him.
“Happiest Birthday my baby! Time truly flies and you’ve made being a father the most transformative and joyful experience,” he wrote. Words can’t express how proud I am to be your father. I look forward to you embarking on your own path with confidence, wonder, and the will to trust yourself.”
He continued, “I love you Nami. Do your very best to show up as yourself. Know that the moments we share last a lifetime and after that. Whenever Wherever However you need me my baby I’m one thought one moment one call away..”
As for Jhené Aiko, she has yet to post a tribute, but fans may remember the touching message she wrote last year when Nami turned 16. At the time, she opened up about the pride she feels for her daughter.
“Happy 16th Birthday @namitan_____ . I love you so much. Ever since I met you I just wanted to make you proud. I’ll never forget how many people were in the delivery room waiting to meet you. I like, love and respect everything about you, my sweet angel,” she wrote.
Aiko also took a moment to thank Nami for the role she plays in their blended family. “Thank you for being the best big sister to Noah and Boba and alllll the cats lol. Thank you for being YOU, through and through. I’ll save my 4 page letter to give to you later. I can’t believe it’s been 16 years! I’ll be crying all day.”
